WORKSTREAM 1: CITIES

WS1 Cities (Precarity, Exclusion and Migrant Food Insecurity in Migrant Destinations) will research the prevalence, nature, determinants, and responses to the four dimensions of food (in)security amongst migrants living in 12 destinations across the South. The research will focus on the gendered city food environment, food sourcing strategies and coping strategies of migrants.

WS2 Chains (Migrants in the Informal Sector of Transforming Urban Food Chains) will focus on the role and strategies of migrants in changing urban food systems with particular reference to precarious employment in the informal food sector and its role in mitigating household food insecurity.
