The study aims to assess the household food security of refugees from Somali, Syria and Afghanistan in the Kitchener-Waterloo region. The overarching goal is to design a high-impact and knowledge mobilization research with an agenda focused on the often-overlooked interactions between migration and food security among the refugee community. The research will provide valuable baseline information for evidence-based policy making for improving refugees’ food security level. Information collected through the study will also allow relevant refugee supporting organizations to better serve refugee communities in the region.
